The National Human Right Commission has stressed it’s readiness to collaborate with relevant bodies to end cases of human rights violation in Adamawa State.
The Commission made this disclosure at the Marking of This years international day of Human Right in Yola, the Adamawa State Capital.
The Executive Secretary National Human Rights Commission Dr. Tony Ojukwu SAN, in his address said the occasion is significant to reflect the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Represented by the State Coordinator, Grace Mamza reminded the people that the celebration was in accordance with remembrance of upholding collective individual roles, values and freedom of diverse backgrounds.
According to her, this can be achieved in building a country where every individual, regardless of ethnicity, gender, age, religion, or socio-economic status, can enjoy their fundamental rights.
The representative of the Adamawa State commissioner of Police and that of Correctional facilities assured the public of working in accordance with the provisions of law.
They also urged the public to have confidence in their combined operations.
Also, the chairperson Federation of Women Lawyers in Adamawa State, Hajiya Jamila Babuba called on the security operatives to adhere to the constitutional guidelines against violation of human rights.
There were interaction among participants and the security personnel on the right and abuses of human rights and the need for National Human rights commission to commence sensitising the general public on complains about human rights violation.
This year’s world human rights day, is freedom equity and justice drew collaboration from the ministry of Women Affairs and Social development Among other partners to deliberate and achieve the challenges confronting Humans by security formations in the country.
