Heavy windstorm has in the evening hours of Monday damaged roof and office equipment at the Federal Radio Corperation of Nigeria,fondly known as Fombina Radio in Yola.
The situation forced the station to close down transmission for some hours Tuesday.
Management of the station has since swung into action to restore the Radio Station for transmission.
But a visit by NASFM news saw the staff interacting at the premises discussing the experience of destruction by the windstorm.
The General Manager, Mallam Dahiru Garba Muhammed while narrating the ordeal of the incident said the damaged led to shut down in transmission for some hours.
The General Manager also welcome donation and support from well to do individuals and Adamawa State Government to compliment effort of restoring the damaged equipment as the station was meant for the benefit of the people in the State
This was the first time FRCN branch station in Yola, Adamawa State witness such destruction by the heavy windstorm since its establishment in some years ago.
Aside from the damaged at the media organization, NASFM news learnt that the windstorm also affected some public and residential buildings in Yola and its environs.
