FRSC Adamawa:flagged off ‘Ember months’ campaign.

Federal Road Safety Corp in Adamawa State has flagged off the Mega Ember months campaign with an advocacy to reduce road crashes on the highways in this year’s festive season.

The Sector Commander, Corp Commander Yelwa Dauda Dio had during the campaign said road crashes cannot be minimized without due attention and cooperation of motorists.

Corp commander Yelwa Dauda Dio had during the campaign noted that the Ember months season is always characterised by movement and festivities hence the need to draw the attention of the drivers to be extra-careful while plying the roads.

He noted that the Federal Road Safety Corp will also reach other zones in Adamawa State as part of its advocacy to enlighten motorists to avoid overloading.

The zonal commander of the Federal Road Safety Corp, Corp commander Solomon Agure who represented the national Commander of the corp Marshal Dauda Biu stressed the need to reduce the rate of speed, intimated that the Corp would also reach worship centres for campaign in the cause of activities.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, represented by the commissioner of transport, Musa Muhammad Kallamu, noted that the rate of road crashes do occur along Yola-Numan and Yola-Song Roads, called for partnership between the state government and the corp to end road crashes.

There were goodwill messages by the representatives of Lamido Adamawa, commissioner of works and energy development Adamu Atiku Abubakar, State leadership of the NURTW among others.

They all described the campaign as timely, and advised drivers to drive carefully and obey security and road safety Personnel in operations.
