Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has voiced his optimism regarding the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) chances in the forthcoming Edo State governorship election

This statement, made available by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Humwashi Wonosikou follows a recent court ruling that overturned the nomination of the party’s candidate.

Despite this setback, Governor Fintiri remains confident in the PDP’s ability to navigate this challenge and secure victory.

During the inaugural meeting of the campaign council in Abuja, where he serves as Chairman, Governor Fintiri acknowledged the obstacles ahead but highlighted the credibility of the PDP’s candidate and the party’s solid track record.

He expressed unwavering belief in the party’s capacity to ultimately triumph in the election.

Governor Fintiri also expressed faith in the PDP’s legal team, emphasizing their competence in addressing the current situation. His remarks have been seen as a morale booster for the PDP as the election date approaches.

The Edo State governorship election is set for September 21, 2024.

It is expected to be a highly competitive race, with multiple political parties contending for the governorship.
