In his effort to better the life of Adamawa citizens,the governor of Adamawa state,Rt Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri revealed that even without fuel subsidy removal, the people of Adamawa state deserve a better transport system.
The governor was making the remark while interacting with the National Assembly 18-man adhoc committe,at the government house, Yola who were in the state with the mandate to ascertain the failure of previous mass transit scheme and profer workable solutions for enduring,sustainable mass transit scheme.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri disclosed that 31 mass transit buses are ordered to make it 41,in a bid to ensure transport connectivity in all the 21 local government areas in Adamawa
While dissecting numerous developmental achievements to the National Assembly Committee, Governor Fintiri said what the team witnessed is a tip of the iceberg as more projects are underway.
According to him,the idea of acquiring vehicles from Nigeria is to support indegene producers, thereby creating workable industries that provide jobs to the youth.
In a related development, the number one citizen of the state said,aside from providing tertiary health institutions to 8 local government council areas in the precious tenure,his administration will also provide mother-child purpose hospitals, model schools across the local councils in Adamawa.
Earlier in his welcome address, Hon.Victor Apam, who led the committee, said rising from the house resolution July 18,2023, which mandated the adhoc committe consult targeted state in order to create lasting scheme.
He appreciated the level of development in Adamawa state and assured the governor that the scheme is also aimed at making water ways safer.
In the end,the governor seeks more support from national assembly,insisting that the state is ready to fully and properly utilize federal allocation and continued partnership.
