Adamawa Gov’t Collaborate N.E.D.C For Massive Training, Workshops And Awareness Campaign Against Climate Change

The Adamawa State Government in Collaboration with North East Development Commission NEDC kicks start a 5 days Workshop on Climate Change Adaptation Awareness Campaign,aims at addressing short-term and long-term environmental challenges in the state taking place at the Federal College of Education FCE Yola.

Speaking at the event,The Commissioner Adamawa State Ministry of Enviroment,Hon. Moh’d Sadiq Moh’d represented by Head of Administration Adamawa State Minstry of Environment, Hoseah Mapasa Jime said in this trying moment consequences of climate change has manifested negatively in the society, therefore, the government is crucial partner and the workshop significant.

Hon. Mohd Sadiq Moh’d also applauds the North East Development Commission for the timely workshop, urged participants to replicate the knowledge acquired in sustainable development.

In his address, the State Lead Climate Change Workshop Ahmad Halilu Abbah of Agricultural Environment Department, Modibbo Adama University Yola, said the workshop is generally aim to enlight people the value of preserving the environment and to pass information to the grassroots on the repercussions of climate abuse hoping to get change in human activities towards the environment.

Contributing to the significance of the workshop, the Senior Manager,North East Development Commission, Environment and Natural Resources Unit,Sufyanu Bukar Mallum explains that the success of the previous workshop warrant the continuation of the initiative thus,participants will be train efficiently on alternate use of the environment to preserve the climate.

Amongst the participants, Janet Neid from Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency NEMA describe climate change as everybody’s business, affirming the benefits expected from the workshop.

The North East Development Commission in collaboration with Adamawa State Government is coordinating the Climate Change Adaptation Awareness Campaign along with Youth Training on Waste Recycling, Training of Women on Energy Reserving Charcoal amongst other efforts to preserve the climate,about 600 participants are expected to serve as Agents of Change in this pursue.
