Adamawa state Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri was the guest of honour at the final of a Unity Novelty football match between Gar FC of Gulak development area and Kirchinga FC from Shuwa development area which took place at Gulak Central Primary School.
The Governor,represented by his son,Hamidu Ahmadu Fintiri (kurmo Batta) who said that Governor Fintiri’s unwavering commitment to sports and the development of diverse cultures has manifested in uniting people of Gulak,Madagali Local Government and by extension Adamawa State.
According to him,this initiative not only promotes physical activity but also fosters a sense of unity and community cohesion among the residents.
The tournament organizer, Alh. Dauda Dan Maliki Gulak expressed satisfaction with the success of the tournament, stressing that youth in the areas have maximum potential in the sports sector.
The winner of the match was determined through penalty shootouts where Gar FC of Gulak is victorious over Kirchinga FC 5-4 on aggregate.
Gar FC was presented a car and Five Hundred Thousand Naira as a gift while other cash accolades were given to the finalists by Alh. Hamid Ahmadu Fintiri (Kurmo Batta),Hon. Haruna JayJay,Personal Assistant to the Governor, Tanko Wazumtu, and Chairman Madagali local government area,Rev. Andrawus Gadzama.
Recall that the Governor had travel to his hometown, Gulak, to celebrate Christmas.
