In recognition of Nigeria’s 2024 Independence Day celebrations, the Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has officially declared Tuesday, 1st October 2024, as a public holiday. This announcement allows citizens across the state to fully partake in the festivities commemorating Nigeria’s independence.
According to a press statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, the Governor emphasized the significance of the holiday as an opportunity for reflection on the nation’s progress and unity. He urged the citizens of Adamawa State to celebrate responsibly and in the spirit of patriotism.
Governor Fintiri extended his warm wishes to all residents for a joyful Independence Day, encouraging them to embrace the ideals of peace and national pride during the celebrations. He noted that regular work activities will resume on Wednesday, 2nd October 2024.
The public announcement was signed by the Head of Civil Service, Pharm Isa Ardo Shehu, mni, on behalf of the Adamawa State Government.
This marks yet another Independence Day under the leadership of Governor Fintiri, who has consistently expressed his administration’s commitment to fostering unity and development in Adamawa State.
