FCE Yola in collaboration with NGO planted 500 trees in the institution.

 

The Federal College of Education Yola in collaboration with Green Environmental Solutions has led a campaign of five hundred tree planting in the institution.

The partnership was geared towards a healthy environment and encourage afforestation in the institution.

Green Environmental Solutions, a non governmental organization in partnership with the Federal College of Education to discourage deforestation in the school environment.

The country coordinator of Green Environmental Solutions, Hamza Hassan said the essence for their effort in partnering the institution is part of thirteen goals of United Nations Sustainable development goals for climate action.

According to him, the Green Environmental Solutions had planted over thirty thousand thousand seedlings in elementary schools across the twenty one local government areas from 2020 till date.

Provost of college, Dr. Muhammad Usman Degereji represented by his deputy Hajiya Aisha Abdulkadir commended the Green Environmental Solutions for their effort towards addressing environmental challenge.

She also called on students of the institution to own the five hundred trees planted during the campaign.

Earlier in her welcome address, the chairman college sanitation committee, Hajiya Jiddere Musa Kaibo said the campaign was part of effort to answer the calls of United Nations to address climate challenges.

District head of Karewa, Musa Audu represented by village head of Malamre Suleiman Danladi Usman described tress as the most important aspect of the society, called on the people to stop the attitude of deforestation to prevent dangers in the society.
Highlights of the event were the symbolic planting of trees in the institution among others.
