Vandals theft looms Federal Housing Adamawa in darkness

Residents of Federal Housing Estate in Girei Local Government Area of Adamawa State have been thrown in to darkness over a month after vandals stole major components of the transformer which supplies electricity to the community.

Residents and business owners who spoke to NAS FM news on Friday said social life and business activities had been disrupted in the community due to lack of electricity.

Head of one ICT business center in the area Clement Shungu explained how lack of electricity supply affected his business.

On their part Samuel Simon and Ayuba Mailafa who described the electricity outage as a great challenge to their businesses which is their source of livelihood have called on the Government and Authorities Concern to as a matter of urgency come to their aid by restoring electricity supply in the area.

Some of the residents said efforts to get Yola Electricity Distribution Company to replace the stolen components of the transformer had proven abortive.

It could be recalled that Yola Electricity Distribution Company YEDC had frequently appealed to all communities to take ownership and protect electrical installations in their localities
