The 13th Quarterly North-East Zonal Conference of the Directors of Department of State Security Service, comprising the 6 commands in the region took place in Yola Adamawa state.
Speaking at the occasion,Adamawa state governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri revealed the state efforts to mitigate insecurity, disclosed concerns about bandits Migration and attempt by selfish individuals to sabotage peace enjoy in Adamawa.
Adamawa state governor,Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri said in full recognition of the constitutional role of the department of state services to protect the nation from internal subversion,it’s a collective responsibility to address the challenges.
The governor recalled challenges inherited by his administration resulted to the establishment of technical committees on farmer/herders in June 2020. He further mentioned other efforts to include.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri also expressed concern over bandits migration from the north-west,the activities of unpatriotic individuals including traditional leaders to discredit the peaceful coexistence enjoy in Adamawa state.
In his address,the chairman of the occasion, ADG H.F Abdullahi command director DSS Bauchi command said security challenges in the north-east region are closely related thus,the conference was in furtherance of Department of Security Service initiative to deliberate on security measures to neutralise security challenges.
While appreciating the DSS Adamawa state command,he highlighted aims of the conference.
Speaking in the same vein, Br. Commander 22 armoured Brigade Bar. MJ Gambo affirmed the northeastern region has been battling insecurity including but not limited to insurgency, terrorism, banditry,kidnapping, communal/ethno crisis, youth restiveness among others.
Earlier, in his welcome remark,the DSS Director Adamawa state command believe the conference provide avenue of experience sharing,simulation of exercise, discussion of identify basic and contemporary threats.
It’s pertinent the conference will uphold intensive collective efforts,robost inter-agency collaboration and synergy.
