Child Protection and Peer Learning Initiative CPLI engaged stakeholders in Yola on Non Violence election

Child Protection and Peer Learning Initiative CPLI on Saturday engaged stakeholders in Yola, Adamawa State capital for the first time on non-electoral violence in the general elections in the country.

At the workshop the stakeholders and participants dwell on responsibility of all and sundry to allow peaceful election.

Officials of the Child Protection and Peer Learning Initiative explain that the purpose for organizing the community peace talks was with the zeal of encouraging stakeholders’ participation in allowing the peaceful elections in the country.

According to them the race towards general elections requires contribution of all the stakeholders in the country for unity of purpose to non-violence elections.

District head of Jimeta, represented by Alhaji Umaru Hammanjoda village head of Alkalawa Ajiya described the community peace talk as long overdue, noting that effort to achieve peace has been causing sleepless night especially to traditional institutions.

Also speaking, the State Director of National Orientation Agency Alhaji Muhammad Bashir Gabdo noted that the genesis of crisis at the election is always characterized by losing focus on the tenet of religions

There were representatives of Media, disabled persons among others all contributed on the need to allow non-violence elections in accordance with the new electoral act in the country.
