Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has officially flagged off the second phase of the Fintiri Business Wallet, a key component of his administration’s poverty alleviation and wealth creation strategy.
The event, which took place at the Ahmadu Ribadu Square, saw the disbursement of ₦50,000 each to 10,000 women across the state.
In his speech, Governor Fintiri highlighted the significance of the initiative as part of the broader mission to roll back poverty, promote the growth of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), and empower women in the state.
He emphasized that this program is where key elements of his administration’s 8-Point Agenda converge—particularly youth and women development, poverty alleviation, and commerce.
Governor Fintiri further disclosed that his administration secured another 31 buses to be distributed to tertiary institutions across the 21 local government and revealed plan to provide jobs in government after reconciliation of thr minimum wage.
The Director General of PAWECA, Michael Zirah, expressed gratitude for the milestone achieved, commending Governor Fintiri for his unwavering support for women’s empowerment.
He also noted that PAWECA has significantly impacted lives across the state, training over 20,000 youths in 10 centers and over 5,000 students in vocational skills.
In his keynote address, Commissioner of the Ministry of Entrepreneurship Development, Hon. Hammajumba Gatugel, lauded the Fintiri administration’s commitment to youth and women empowerment, describing it as a foundation for a prosperous future.
He urged all beneficiaries to make good use of the funds received, emphasizing that home-based businesses are critical to economic growth.
The event also featured goodwill messages from various dignitaries, including Hon. Bathiya Wesley, Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, who praised the Fintiri administration for making history in empowerment efforts and reducing crime rates through strategic poverty alleviation programs.
The launch of the second phase of the Fintiri Business Wallet marks a significant step towards reducing poverty and boosting economic growth in Adamawa State, reinforcing Governor Fintiri’s vision of inclusive governance where no one is left behind.
