The North East Development Commission NEDC paid a familiarization visit to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri at the government house,Yola on Monday.
Governor Fintiri who described the visit as crucial considering the economic backward and setbacks occasioned by the activities of insurgents in the region.
According to him,the commission should work with the state government in identify the needs of people.
Fintiri further stress the importance of oversights functions to enable the commission address urgent matters and right challenges.
He also task the commission to be proactive in handling projects to be executed in the state.
In his address, Gen. Paul Tarfa (rtd) who speaks on behalf of the commission said their mandate is to cooperate dynamic steps by the government to provide necessary public services.
Tarfa said,the commission had been in Bauchi, Borno and Yobe state for a similar task.
He expressed optimism in leadership of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri to collaborate and provide Adamawa state with sufficient democratic dividends.
The commission had during the visit delivered public address system to all the local government councils in the state.
The North East Development Commission are expected to inspect certain projects within Adamawa state.
