Callers on Nas FM Yola Current Affairs programme “Morning Grill” lambasted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s speech over the nationwide protest, describing it out of reality with the hardship and consequences of the removal of subsidy the masses are going through.
According to Alh. Habu from Jimeta, the president speech appeared without solutions to the protesters’ demands while Ishaq Muhammad also from Jimeta conceived the president address to be baseless speech and anti masses.
Another caller, Hon. Kawulele of Shinko alleged lack of empathy by the leaders and cautioned the hardship pressure on the masses, saying it’s not what interpretation of democracy should be.
While the callers suggested decisions that immediately address hardships, the people are going through,the head of News and Current Affairs department of Nas FM Yola Mohd Sa’idu suggests that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu revisit the use of presidential liason officers to ensure palliatives, grands and motives meant to address the situation reached the common man.
Prominent citizens like former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka, human rights lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN), and a number of civil society organisations (CSOs), yesterday, faulted the national broadcast by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying he did not address the fundamental issues that triggered the #EndBadGovernance protest in the country.
The protests, which commenced on Thursday, have claimed many lives and also resulted in the destruction of properties worth billions of naira.
