Libbo Community Celebrates Cultural Heritage with Vibrant Annual Festival in Shelleng

The Libbo community of Dutse district, Shelleng local government area of Adamawa state, has on Saturday held it’s Annual cultural display.

Present in this event were; The Commissioner Ministry of Mineral Resources, Hon. Haruna Ibrahim, The executive Chairman Shelleng local government area, Hon. Abubakar Musa, The HRH Amna Shelleng Dr. Alh. Abdulahi Isa Dasong Bala’laawo II, All district heads, The indegineous language couclil Adamawa state chapter, Gongola People’s Forum, among others.

The event was a display of the rich Libbo culture, through their traditional dance by the several groups adorned in their traditional attairs, and an overview of the history of The Libbo community and it’s tradition.

Before the start of the event a short tour of important places in the community and the several Libo monuments and their significance to the people of Libbo were explained. Places such as; The local palace(Gungurwa Gbuama), The place the King is buried in (Zauwa Gbuama), Instruments of the spirits(Vu-adingkong) among others.

The Chairman of Shelleng local government area, Hon. Abubakar Musa, represented by his secretary gave his good will message. In his speech he called on the Libbo people to work collectively as a team, promote their culture.

He called on the government to come to the Libbo community’s aid by fixing the bad roads especially the one that runs from Wuroyanka Eastward and connecting the neighboring local government at Dikir.
