Historical Society to Honor Governor Fintiri for Outstanding Leadership

The National Leadership of the Historical Society of Nigeria has nominated Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State for a prestigious honor, in recognition of his significant contributions and dedicated service to the state and its people.

The announcement was made by the National President of the Historical Society, Prof. Samuel Agalinu, during a press briefing following a closed-door meeting with the Governor at the Government House in Yola.

Prof. Agalinu highlighted Governor Fintiri’s exceptional leadership, noting that his efforts have brought pride to the society.

He praised the Governor’s commitment to the development of Adamawa State, particularly in human and infrastructural sectors.

Leading other executive members of the society on a courtesy visit, Prof. Agalinu emphasized the society’s solidarity with Governor Fintiri’s achievements and pledged their continued support for his administration.

He specifically commended the Governor for being one of the first to implement the N70,000 minimum wage, describing the act as a testament to his selfless leadership.

As a distinguished member of the Historical Society, Fintiri’s contributions were recognized as transformative, with Prof. Agalinu noting that the Governor’s name will be remembered for his role in fostering peace and promoting an inclusive government in a state characterized by ethnic and religious diversity.

The society, which will celebrate its 70th anniversary next year, has announced plans to honor Governor Fintiri during the anniversary event in Abuja, in recognition of his exemplary leadership.
