Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has praised the Department of State Security Service (DSS) as a key partner in ensuring progress, stating that if Nigeria relied more on the agency, the country might not face its current challenges.

The Governor made these remarks during a send-off event for the outgoing State Director, Olushola Aguda, and the commissioning of a newly renovated hall at the DSS headquarters in Yola.

Fintiri described Aguda, the fourth director he has worked with in five years, as a dedicated professional whose achievements in the state were unsurprising.

He expressed confidence that the incoming Director, James Adagba, would build on Aguda’s success.

The Governor commended DSS personnel for their intelligence and dedication, emphasizing that their security reports have significantly contributed to the state’s safety.

Fintiri assured that the government remains committed to supporting the DSS.

Fintiri also encouraged DSS officers to stay committed to their duties, work collaboratively, and extend their support to the new Director.

Earlier, Deputy Director of Administration and Logistics, Shettima Buba, acknowledged that while the team had mixed emotions about Aguda’s transfer, they recognize that change is inevitable.

He praised Aguda for his contributions and pledged full support for the incoming Director.
