Adamawa State Electoral Commission Assures Fair Play in Upcoming Local Government Elections

The Chairman, Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission, Alhaji Mohammed Umar has assured Political Parties participating in local government election of fair-play in the poll.

Shortly after the inauguration of Chairman and members of the commission by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, guidelines and schedule were released to meet the deadline of 13th July 2024 for the conduct of local government election in Adamawa State.

The election at the third tier of government paves way to establish a grassroots government, to achieve this, Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission calls on political parties and inform them about the rules of the game.

Chairman of the commission, Alhaji Mohammed Umar, told the political parties at the meeting that arrangements were put in-place waiting the procurement process to meet the deadline of July 13th.

According to him, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri gave the assurance for fair-play to all participating political parties in the local government polls in Adamawa State.

Responding on behalf of the Political parties, the chairman Inter-party advisory council in Adamawa State, Bello Babajo commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for foresight of giving local government priority, through the appointment of chairman of the State electoral commission.

The IPAC chairman therefore urged the Chairman and his team to do the needful towards the success of the exercise.

The Meeting had in attendance, the participation of the ruling All Progressive Congress, Peoples’ Democratic party among other parties in State.
