Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has promised to bring changes that will improve the welfare and work conditions of traditional rulers in the state.
He pointed out that despite the hard work of District Heads at the grassroots level, their roles are not clearly defined, which makes it hard for them to do their jobs well.
The Governor shared these thoughts during a visit from the District Heads at the Government House in Yola.
Fintiri emphasized that the government’s efforts to maintain peace and security in the state would be ineffective without properly supporting the District Heads.
As part of the reforms, he plans to involve the District Heads and has asked the Secretary to the State Government to organize workshops to help them better handle their duties.
Governor Fintiri also highlighted the need to address the poor pay and undefined job roles of the District Heads and their staff. Additionally, he warned the District Heads to be cautious of illegal miners who could pose security risks, noting that laws will be introduced to curb these activities.
The District Heads, led by the District Head of Duhu, Mustafa Mohammad Sanusi, visited the Governor to thank him for prioritizing their welfare. 
They also pledged their support for his policies, acknowledging his efforts in improving infrastructure, health, education, and security in the state.
