Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State marked this year’s Eid-el-Kabir by joining the Muslim faithful in Shelleng Local Government Area for the annual prayers. The event was attended by a large congregation, reflecting the governor’s commitment to staying connected with various communities across the state.
Governor Fintiri paid a courtesy visit to the traditional leader of Shelleng, Amna Shelleng Abdullahi Isah Dasin During the visit, the governor expressed his deep appreciation for the community’s unwavering support and adherence to the rule of law. He emphasized the importance of unity and cooperation in fostering peace and development within the state.
Governor Fintiri commended the residents of Shelleng for their exemplary conduct, noting that their support has been instrumental in the successful implementation of various government policies and initiatives. He assured the traditional leader and the community of his administration’s continued commitment to improving infrastructure, education, healthcare, and security in the area.
In his address to the Muslim congregation, Governor Fintiri delivered a poignant religious message, highlighting the significance of Eid-el-Kabir as a time of reflection, sacrifice, and renewal of faith. He called on all Muslims to emulate the virtues of Prophet Ibrahim, whose unwavering faith and obedience to Allah were celebrated during this festive period.
“Let us use this occasion to strengthen our bond of brotherhood, show compassion to the less fortunate, and continue to live in peace and harmony,” Governor Fintiri urged. “Our collective efforts in maintaining law and order, and supporting one another, are essential for the progress and prosperity of our state.”
The governor’s visit to Shelleng and his engagement with the local community underscored his administration’s dedication to inclusive governance and grassroots development. The residents of Shelleng expressed their gratitude for the governor’s visit and his ongoing efforts to uplift the community.
In his sermon,Chief Imam Shelleng Emirate, Imam Malam Dan Kaka Rilwanu preached against disobedience and selfishness,describing selfishness as an act of sabotage to successful hereafter.
Imam Dan kaka call on believers to desist from usury,gambling,fornication, intentional negligence to perform Salat insisting such wrongdoings are the catalyst for the hardship people faced at the moment.
The Chief Imam,Mallam Dan kaka, prayed for the sustenance of peace and prosperity in governance.
As the celebrations continued, the spirit of Eid-el-Kabir resonated throughout Shelleng, with communal prayers, feasting, and charitable activities, bringing the community together in a display of unity and faith.
