23 Brigade Nigerian Army:End of year West African Social Activities WASA Yola

The Adamawa state governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has commended officers and men of the 23 Brigade Nigerian Army Yola, for their risilience in securing the state and the nation in general.

The governor gave the commendation over the weekend during the end of year West African Social Activities WASA held at the Headquarters of the 23 brigade Yola to socialise with the host community.

Represented by the deputy governor Crowther Seith, Governor Fintiri noted that the troops of the brigade deserved to be celebrate as officers and men of the Nigerian Army have remained resolute in the discharge of their constitutional duties of defending nation.

Governor Fintiri also applauds the effort of the troops in fostering synergy with other security agencies leading to the peaceful atmosphere been enjoyed in the state.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Commander 23 Brigade Nigerian Army Yola, Brigadier General Mohammed Jibrin Gambo reitrated that West African Social Activities WASA provides a forum for social interactions and an opportunity to interact with the public to appreciate the diverse ethnic groups in the barracks.

Brigadier General Gambo noted that the training activities of the Brigade in 2022 were effectively executed with high sense of professionalism and regimentation.

He added that the continous conduct of operations of the troops in the state has drastically decreased the security threats and sustained the confidence of the populace in the security agents.                                                  

Highlights of the event were cultural dance displayed by various cultural troops, tug of war, raffle draw, sack and cycling races as well as presentation of awards to outstanding soldiers, teachers and students of the year and beating of retreat among others.
