Poor Hygiene: Labour in Adamawa calls for the shut down of Yola Ultra-modern abattior

Secretary of the Nigeria Labour Congress in Adamawa, Dr. Bartholomew Nyalas has call for total shutdown of Yola Ultra-modern abattoir over poor hygiene in meat processing.

Dr. Nyalas had while leading delegation of Nigerian Cameroonian bilateral workshop on Bio Risk management Disease Surveillance and Reporting visited took time and visited the Yola abattoir to ascertain the level of processing meets for consumption of Adamawa Indigenes and beyond.

Speaking at the Abattoir after the inspection, Dr. Bartholomew Nyalas, the Secretary Nigeria Labour Congress in Adamawa states said the said of hygiene was unacceptable.

Dr. Nyalas wants Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri to extend the projects of his urban renewal to the abattoir.

He noted that the condition of meat processing would cause a lot of diseases to the consumers.

“as am talking to you, the situation of processing meat in the Yola Ultra-modern Abattoir is an insurgency to our pots that can cause a lot of diseases to the workers, and the people of Adamawa State and beyond.”

Speaking at the visit, the Secretary of the Nigeria Labour Congress in Adamawa State Comrade Bartholomew Nyalas noted that the condition of the abattoir in meat processing was not acceptable.

He also calls for the ministry saddle with the responsibility of maintaining the abattoir rise to the expectation together with the declaring state of emergency.

The Bio safety workshop was in collaboration with office, ministry of livestock and aquaculture development to curb the crossing diseases from Nigeria and Cameroun.

The Director Meat inspection, Mukhtar Umar Bobboi noted that Adamawa State government is not focusing on the maintenance of the abattoir.

Leader of the delegation, from Cameroun, Alhaji Shettima Umar want the Adamawa State government to complete the projects in the abattoir for safety of the people.

Alhaji Abdullahi Muhammad from Mayo-Balewo talk on relationship between farmers and herders stress the need for them to live in peace and harmony.
