Inagural Opening of Nana Asma’u Female Quranic recitation Competition,Adamawa

The Adamawa state Commissioner for local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Mijinyawa Yayaji has attributed the present social unrest to noncompliance with the teachings of the Holy Quran.

Alhaji Yahyaji said this at the first edition of Adamawa state Nana Asmau Female Qur’anic recitation competition at Women Development Centre, Yola on Thursday.

The local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs commissioner also urged Muslims to embrace Islamic tenets for today’s good and better tomorrow.

Earlier in his welcome speech, the Chairman of the occasion, Alhaji Sahabo Magaji advised the participants to bear in mind that they are competing for the sake of Allah.

On her part, the Head of PAWECA Adamawa state, Hajiya Aishatu Bawa Bello said the competition will be a morale booster for the memorizers of the Holy Quran and urged them to intensify effort.

The Amira IMWON Hajiya Asmau Aliyu Abubakar who doubles as the Amira Nana Asmau Quranic recitation competition said the competition is mainly for female Muslims who are twenty years and below.

She maintained that the participants were drawn from all the 21 local government areas of the state and that the event will climax next Sunday.

Those who emerged victorious will represent the state at the national level slated for 9th September, 2022 at Keffi in Nassarawa state.
