Diocesan Laity Council Conference of Catholic Yola 2022

The Catholic Diocese of Yola has organized a two day diocesan Laity Council Conference for forty Parishes that made up the diocese.

Speaking at the conference which held at the old cathedral of the Saint Theresa in Yola, Reverend Father Justin Kanibene Dabo,said organizing the conference at this period became imperative considering the situation in which the country finds it self.

Father Dabo hinted that rekindling the hope of the church at this crucial time is eminent saying most people are weak as a result of numerous challenges bedeviling the country.

The diocesan chaplain revealed that people are denied the right and opportunity to participate effectively in the growth of the society and that many people are  wallowing in abject poverty as feeding themselves and the family has become a serious challenge.

He called on all and sundry to call on God as he remains the only problem solver.

Speaking in the same vein,the diocesan President Bro. John U.Ndasaya,hinted the attendees on the achievements so far recorded in the diocese urging them to do more in supporting the leadership of the diocese.

Ndasaya, called on laities to educate their members on who to vote as electioneering campaign mode has been activated.

Speaking earlier,the Chairman Catholic Laity Council of Nigeria,Jimeta Deanery Stephen Iorlumun,represented by Mrs.Justina Patrick,said as people of faith, the Laity is not only expected to join in doing wrong in the society but to be a vanguard s in the sustenance of good governance and the entrenchment of a true democratic system where peace and justice shall reign.

Five participants where drawn from thirty eight Parishes that made up the diocese.
