Executive Secretary Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency, Dr. Muhammad Amin Suleiman says three out of five Internally Displaced Persons as a result of Lunguda Waja Crisis collapse in Guyuk and Lamurde local government areas.
The return of the Crisis between the two warring parties started from six and escalated to eighth of June this year before the intervention of Adamawa State Government.
Dr. Muhammad Amin Suleiman noted that Adamawa State Government in collaboration with the National Emergency Management Agency provide food and non-food items during the stay of the Internally Displaced Persons at the camps.
He said over ten thousand IDPs were registered in the five camps, noting that normalcy has improved at the areas.
The Executive Secretary of the Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency also gave the detail that at the moment, eight-hundred of the Internally Displaced Persons registered with the counter part of the Agency in Gombe State while others migrated to Yola, the Adamawa State capital.
He said more assistance is expected from the non-governmental organizations under rapid response in partnership with Adamawa State Government to the remaining two internally Displaced Persons in Guyuk and Lamurde local governments areas.
On flooding, Dr. Suleiman also confirm that properties worth millions of Naira devastated in some parts of Hong, Toungo and Ganye local governments areas due to flash floods among others in Adamawa State.
Year in Year out, authorities have been predicted flooding on the need by the communities in river prone areas to relocates to safer sides but hitting the warning becomes problem on the part of victims.
